Upgrading from an FX 4300 with ~120€ ..?

Hello,

I am trying to upgrade from my FX 4300 because It's starting to bottleneck me pretty hard.

So I need opinions as my budget is very tight and I can't afford a dumb move.

Here are my specs :
(ask if I forgot something)

CPU : AMD FX-4300

PSU : ATNG ATM-400FB (400W)

GPU : GTX 1050

RAM : 12 (8+4) DDR3 1366 MHz

Motherboard :M5A78L-M LX3 (Max TDP is 75W !)

I think upgrading to an FX 8320E would be a good idea, any thoughts ?

I'm pretty sure the architecture itself is more of a bottleneck than cores/CPU model, perhaps I'm wrong though.

In your case, I'd probably try and find a good secondhand Core i5-3xxx or 4xxx CPU and motherboard bundle

Get an i7 860 + a good P55 board and OC it to 4+ghz, I have one as my spare rig and it's on par with my 1700 (only in gaming though lol) when paired with my R9 290x

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

I think you would really see a huge performance bump if you go with Ryzen 3. I know it doesn't go with the 120€ but maybe you can stretch it just enough to get an AB350M motherboard.

keep the rig the way it is, as a mid range rig, and upgrade to a high end rig urself  ( new build ) , :)? sell the fx4300 rig as a full rig > profit? ^^

Pretty much is an architecture limitation. I run an 8350 with turbo off at 4.0 GHz, and it can "sometimes" bottleneck my gpu a bit (950 GTX) which is basically the same as the 1050. If you can overclock it you might be able to get a bit more out of it as i have stable and very playable FPS with mine at 4.0, so if you can pass those speeds you might be fine for now. but it also depends on what your playing, settings, FPS target, ETC.
