Can someone just double check the compatiability of this please?

Hi,

My friend's birthday is coming up and she wanted a PC. I suggested that rather than buying a prebuilt (which, let's face it, cost more than building a pc yourself with the same (or similar) specs), I could build a PC with her.

It's my first build, please can someone just double check the compatiability of these parts? I've already changed the mobo (from a Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3) because it didn't work with FX processors by default. Anything else I should know before all the parts are ordered?

Thanks guys!

Basically just some basic games (she is into Wizard101 and Minecraft...) and some productivity stuff, like Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote.

With optifine on Minecraft, I reckon that it should be able to run at 60fps or so (I have played it on my 2008 20" iMac at 60fps - ATI Radeon HD XT 128MB and got framerates of 100fps+).

I wouldn't waste money on case fans, and would put that amount towards something else. More RAM maybe. TBH I wouldn't be buying that hardware new at all, except the storage.

The target budget was about £350... not sure how I'd sway that lol. Although I have been working on another PC build for myself though, and I managed to get a GTX 1050 for about £98 or so - build total around £325.

I would get a G4560 instead, its IGPU may be better then that 730 and it leaves room for upgrades while having a built in cooler, snappier windows experience etc

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

Well... I don't think she's planning on upgrading any time soon - she's currently just gone into college and lives with her parents (Post-16 education - again, UK for anyone from US or other places where the education system is different)

We'll if all she wants to do is to use the Internet and do college work then it's fine but if she wants to play games on it then it just simply won't play them well even with the resolution dropped and settings on the lowest possible.

I would retrurn it all and do some actual research. You've essentially thrown your money in the trash. Old, crappy CPU, weird case, terrible, terrible fans (i speak personal experience), old motherboard, very, very slow ddr3 ram, no ssd and an old gpu.. not to mention a tiny PSU which constitutes essentially no upgradeability..

This is one of the most terribly planned builds I've seen on here. Again, return it and do some research. If you did your research you'd know the new Ryzen CPUs have a 55% IPC improvement (essentially each core can run 55% more processes per "clock") for a cheap, cheap price.
