i5-7500: Will it bottleneck a 1070?

I currently have an i5-7500 and a 1050ti. I was thinking of upgrading to a 1070 but wasn't sure if my CPU would be a bottleneck. Anyone know?

Any CPU can bottleneck any GPU. Just depends on your performance vs visual quality expectations and the types of applications or games being run and the conditions they are being run in. So don't worry about it.

At 1080p possibly, depending on the game. but you'll still hit 60fps easily so if you only have a 60hz monitor that's nothing to worry about.

At 1440p/4k you should have no problem.

Yes it will, should not ruin your experience though, especially in GPU driven games... in other words still very acceptable combo.

Even if it does, play the game and play with the settings. Determine if its playable and if you even know the difference. I am running a 4770k 1080ti at 1080p 60/hz and get 180 fps on shadow of mordor maxed out everything.

 

I have a 1440p ultrawide coming this week, so i will be running bench marks on that on max settings and then doing an OC to see how far the 4770k will go. At that point once I can see a change in my game play, NOT numbers in the corner will I entertain spending money.
