Advise on buying a laptop.

I need a portable (somewhat affordable) laptop, mainly used for college, I'm using an HP Pavilion right now, it's decently powerful but heavy, big and not portable.

I was thinking of something like a Microsoft Surface Pro 4(Intel Core M), seems portable and pretty cheap(ish). I was also considering the Dell XPS 13, MacBook Air and a few others.

What are your opinions on these laptops? And what laptop do you use right now?

Are you going to do any light gaming on it?

Absolutely no gaming, purely school work.Maybe some light video/photo editing but most of the editing will be done on my desktop. I'd like the laptop to last me a few years too.But the main thing is portability.

A little on the big side, but seems decent, I'll definitely look at it when I go to buy one tomorrow.
