All I could think of would be the power, but even that is keyed to be retard proof...

Oh. I was thinking along the lines of the lanes themselves. I think without physically destroying something you'd be hard pressed to damage a card that way.

Tried, but one thing i havent tried is,

putting gpu in and botting with igpu,

You could try that to see if the GPU is still recognized but that won't solve your problem. Try to get it replaced from the store you bought it from.

I still don't quite understand what you did what that PCIe riser. Can't really plug it in the wrong way.

Agree

Also try playing it directly to the slot

Can we get a picture of how you incorrectly installed it?

I'm slightly in the belief this is a troll post.

Custom pinewood case, Corsair CX 600WRampage 3 Extreme, i7 980x (@4.2ghz) with ML240 Cooler MSI GTX 970, 24gb DDR3, 240gb OCZ Tr150 SSD + 2Tb Seagate Baracuda.

Advocate for used/older hardware. Also one of the resident petrol heads.

I beleive that msi is not safe brand, tried same thing to asus and zotac by putting wrong direction, nothing happened to those cards, but msi dead.

Or the cable is dead. Remove the motherboard from the case if you have to, and install the GPU directly into the motherboard slot for testing. Or just ignore this post like the rest and keep babbling on about you you think its dead and dont want to try to actually fix anything yourself.

"I ruined a card by forcing it into a slot the wrong way, it's MSIs fault"

makes sense

MSI is actually one of the best GPU manufacturers atm, and the Gaming X variants are superb so I'm not sure what you meant here.
