GTX 1070 or RX Vega 56

Brilew

The RX Vega 56 is more expensive. Should I pay the extra price or buy the 1070. I am upgrading from a 970.

Edit: I am planning on buying a 1440p 144hz monitor.

1070

Just don't expect a big performance bump, the 970 is still a decent card.

How much more expensive? The 56 is a bit faster overall. For the same price, I'd go 56, but hard to say otherwise. Unless there were other factors like if you have a matching variable refresh tech on your monitor.

I believe it's good to note that the monitor OP is buying does have FreeSync which makes Vega 56 a more viable purchase.

I don't think freesync is necessary as I play mostly overwatch and pubg. And the extra 100 bucks for the Vega could've been spent on a g-sync monitor.

Please do not troll! One out of 10 games maybe Vega is faster and so what ? GTX 1080 still is faster overall.

At the time I got mine I managed to find a non-bundle card for comparable price to a low end 1070. The bundles didn't interest me since I didn't care about the games. Having a quick look now, I don't see those available any more. That sucks.
