i5-2400S or i3-2130

Im putting together a build for a friend, Ive got everything planned out except the gpu, I had the cpu chosen (i3-2130) Until I noticed the i5-2400s for slightly more, But im not sure what to go for? Can somebody give me some advice on what to get for them? It will be mostly for gaming, also what is the best GPU you would recommend for the i3/i5. Usually I would just go for the i5 but because its an S variant it has a lower clock speed.

Thanks.

Is this for a new build or an existing system.. because those are pretty piss-poor cpu choices. What is your budget/situation?

GPU is going to be something cheap, Im on an extremely tight budget. Probably a 760. So would that give better performance? What about overclocking, Doubt I will but could it be an option?

Yikes.. that would barely cover mobo + psu..

You sure you can't find a used pc that has a decent cpu already for ~£100 and then just pop in a 1050 with the remaining budget?

Wouldn't the psu be a problem? Although saying that I will look around.

The main components you don't want used generally are hard drives/SSD's and RAM, as they have the highest failure rate. I've found CPUs, mobos, PSUs, etc to be fairly resilient if they're a good brand.

Typically should be fine for a 1050, if i'm not mistaken it can run off of the pcie power alone. Maybe a used optiplex.
