the last couple of month i heard and read a lot vega is great for mining and thanks too this an can't really afford one.

 

now my question is

is it cause of hbm2 memory in vega or is the internal structure with calc cores simply better for mining?
I think at some point i read ethereum is more memory demanding in mining than the actual gpu(?)

 

now "if" there would be a vega with gddr5(x) would it still be so great for mining or dos the hbm2 a big thing here?

If I remember correctly, mining is usually more dependant on GPU architecture rather than VRAM speeds, while when it comes to memory it's usually the amount more than the speed. You might want to get a second opinion on this though, as I've been out of the mining world a while.

It actually completely depends on what you're mining, there are cryptocurrency which workload is extremely VRAM depended.

the current reason vega costs so much is the SHORTAGE of HBM2, not the fact that miners are taking over. 

 

idk the performance of vega for mining, but that is why it is expensive

Sometimes core makes more difference, sometimes it's vram. It's well known that gcn is good for mining, but I'm unsure about hbm2. I know GDDR5x is bad for it, but idk about hbm2.

 

The main reason why Vega is good for mining is the cores themselves. Can't comment on hbm2 unfortunately.

Whether HBM2 vram is better or not is a good question, but the answer won't matter anytime soon. I think Vega is too inefficient to ever be consider great for mining.
