there are news in China says that nvidia's new gaming gpu will be on the market next january

i'm thinking if that really happend buying a 1070 or 1080at that time will or will noe be stupid

Ask again in 4 months (or when Volta actually launches) when it's actually applicable. No one can answer that question now.

I would take that with a grain of salt. They had planned for a 2017 release, then a Q1 2018 release, then they just said 2018. I would guess closer to a march release, but then again I know about as little as they probably do. However waiting 4-8 months in GPU world is silly. Buy what you need now, it will be fine.
