Asus warranty and waterblocks. Is it void if cooler removed?

As the title states.

If anyone knows my history, I had a shit experience with Asus support and vowed to never grab an ASUS product, but after saving gift cards and getting a 10% coupon, I can get either a  EVGA 1080 Ti SC2 and ASUS 1080 Ti STRIX edition at Best buy for dirt cheap (out of pocket)

The prices for each gpu would be roughly $200.

I know EVGA is a god Send in the watercooling community but EKWB has stated they are not going to make a waterblock for the SC2 thanks to a pin connector that is protruding out blocking a waterblock. There are EKWB blocks for the STRIX edition though.

Is ASUS against removing the stock cooler and adding a waterblock? I saw on a video they still do the whole "void if removed" sticker on screws.

I would go for EVGA and it doesn't make sense why EKWB won't be making blocks for EVGA

Its because theres a pin connector protruding out that blocks a waterblock from sitting flat on all the important components. http://www.overclock.net/t/1629771/evga-1080-ti-sc2

Does EKWB have one that would fit the SC2 without being a custom block?

Its a custom PCB so no :/ People have modded the GPU by filing down the connectors, but I do not want to do that at all.

I would take the SC2, use it on air or sell it for the FTW2 or 3.

How much more is the FTW? Can you sell the card for 5% off and still get a good profit?

I'd try only if you're comfortable doing so. Is Best Buy able to order the FTW at the desk for you? I feel like that should be possible given the stock that they have. You could also just do as @LeapFrogMasterRace said and take the Asus if you're willing to give up this once.

I may buy it, then resell and bump to the Gaming X or FTW 3 edition. MSI seem to be fine with waterblocks as well. FTW 3 would be preferrable. or I could get the Poseidon for an addittional $100 over the SC2 lol

Do you mind asking if EVGA will allow you to step up to a FTW card with their program? Let them know that you intend on "buying the card new, unopened and getting a FTW immediately as Best Buy doesn't sell the FTW as it is 'discontinued by EVGA'".

I have. Their step up cards are the standard SC model for the 1080 Ti. anything bells and whistles or premium model are not available.

I may take my chances and resell. Which model would be more appealing to the common masses brand new? Strix or SC2?

Edit: I could also buy a Vega 64 for $75 and a waterblock for $140. I do have a freesync monitor but was hoping to go for more horsepower. Would the Vega be a smarter per dollar buy?
