Run Chkdsk on hidden recovery partition

Hi, i need to run chkdsk on a recovery partition on a laptop to create a backup image for a friend and the problem is that when the program runs the chkdsk it detects problems and wont let me back it up.  Does anyone know how to run chkdsk?  i have tried booting into Windows recovery but i think one of the partitions that i need cant be accessed to run it on.

Edit: i found out that the two partitions i could not run chkdsk on were the disk drive and the sd card reader.  i found that when i boot to the System Recovery Options all the files a good and i cant seem to find any problems.
