Here's Your Best Look Yet at the iPhone 8

For all you apple fans out there, the first dummie units of the upcoming iphone 8 have arrived.

The most striking thing about the iPhone 8 design, as seen in this Marques Brownlee video, is the nearly borderless display. Apple seems to have finally ditched the chunky top and bottom bezels of previous iPhones in favor of an edge-to-edge display that provides roughly the same amount of screen as the iPhone 7 Plus in a much smaller package.

 

The only thing that's a bit jarring is the small module at the top, which houses the phone's front-facing camera and speaker. This little bump matches the iPhone outline found in the leaked HomePod firmware, which leads us to believe that it's most likely legitimate.

Looks great except for the fact that I like actual buttons on my devices. Also where is the home button?.. 

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

I now know what dark theme users go through. 

 

 

 

This  better have dope palm rejection. I cant use the samsung S8 from work because my palms are always pressing in the curved glass. 

And the camera bump is uglyAF

What about the thin screen bezels, if you crack your screen, it would be clearly shown.

Wow that thing is hideous! It looks like it has a case permanently attatched to it. I was under the impression there would be like no bezels. The older dumby phones ive seen look way better wtf.

It actually looks really nice ^^, but its gonna be so expensive...

 

The Nokia 8 may have ugly bezels, but it should be getting updates for at least two years like its weaker siblings are and also run very smoothly with a great camera and display (hopefully not another LCD display :() for about 500-700$/€ if they have multiple storage options.

Why did apple have to remove the headphone jack on the iphone 7, I hope that they dont remove it on the iphone 8. Well I guess that since bluetooth connected headphones are becoming more popular, apple has taken the advantage of modern day technology. I think that apple shouldnt have removed the headphone jack because it is very convenient for wired headphones. I mean, who would want to spend more money on the apple ear pods just because the heaphone jack is removed.

People who buy apple products religiously.

 

At the end of the day, the change wasn't about "courage," it was about making money. Unfortunately, other manufacturers are seeing the benefit in not bothering with the 3.5mm jack as well. Expect in a few years, no phones will have one.

It's less annoying than you think.

 

The iPhone 7 is still the best selling iPhone literally ever.

Then we will all buy second hand previous generation phones and ipods to use a headphone jack until they all force updates that brick all previous products in the name of "courage"

I don't think they'll need to worry about people like that. The droves of people who will get the new phone immediately will counteract the secondhand market profit loss.

Definitely, but I'm still confused where the home button is... If the entire front is screen where is the home button going to be???

Wow, so I'm not alone! I too use a S8 and the curved display may look nice but it's horrible to use the phone. I had to get a case in order to not touch the round edges. I will most likely sell it anyway and get a new iPhone, I am on a Google boycott.

If it ain´t broke don't try to break it.

Yup, and yup. 

 

No tears over the loss of the 3.5mm jack though. No headphones that I've ever owned have ever sounded good through the DAC/AMP in the phone. Anyone who used the internal DAC/AMP to drive headphones is likely better off moving to a good set of Bluetooth headphones (v5 should be a game changer for audio). Anyone who is already running an external DAC/AMP... Then nothing lost. 

 

The only downside to no 3.5mm port is that the cost of headphones is likely more expensive at this stage if you opt for Bluetooth, or you've got a fragmented selection (lightning/USB-C).

It won't be there.  But as before, it won't be an issue for most people: there's an adapter in the box that you can just leave attached to your preferred wired headphones, and the included headphones plug in with no adapter needed.  It's only really an issue if you need to charge at the same time as you're listening... then you're looking at buying a specialized cable.
