My opinion is that it's worth paying €50-70 to not have any LEDs.

 

The good news is that LED-less is usually cheaper, although the colored-light blight is gradually taking over all price ranges.

I find it tacky and annoyingly glaring when you are trying to focus on the screen loads of needless lights glowing in the room, reminds me of the yobos who used to bomb around in their Vauxhall Novas on the estate with neons... 

 

When trying to find decent hardware these days you often have to buy stuff which increased prices because RGB is standard on it... -_- DO NOT WANT!

Do I need this NZXT Hue+ controller? Or will I be able to only buy a set of LED extension strips and plug it into the RGB header on the mobo directly and control it though Asus Aura software? 

Hue+ controller helps you to customize each color zone, or even per LED bulb.. example your led strip has 10 bulbs, you can have 10 different colour at once..

 

If im not mistaken, rgb header at your mobo is consider as one zone, per header. Less customization.
