My £50 gamble

scobie56

Quick note, yes i know the power supply isn't the best im getting a new one soon

so to start this build off i bought a z97 motherboard about a year ago on sale and never got round to using it. i was thinking about building a new gaming pc since  my old one was a little under powered. i then found that someone was selling a "dead" gaming pc. he said he bought a cheap power supply and it blew up on him. for £50 it was just the motherboard, cpu, and ram, he took the hdds, ssd, gpu and case. after testing i found that the CPU worked fine (4690k) and one of the 2 sticks of hyper x fury ram worked. but the motherboard was toast. i then used my old case, power supply, drives, and bought a second stick of hyper x fury and a gtx 1070 for this build.

Specs

CPU: 4690K

GPU:1070 gigabyte ITX

RAM:Hyper x fury 2x4gb

Case: Corsair 330r

PSU:CX600m (soon to be an EVGA PSU)

Motherboard: Gigabyte z97x gaming 7

OS: Windows 10 + dual boot OSX

My speakers dont even fit on or under my desk...PA's FTW

That's actually a pretty damn nice find for 50 quid.

That is a really nice and sick build on its own, let alone being able to get it for 50 pounds. I bet the person selling you the "dead" gaming pc is tearing himself apart right now.

IMO, this thing needs MOAR RGB....

I misread it for a second there... Sorry. Still a very cool build tho. I planning to use a second hand Dell to build my first computer here with a mix of old and new hardware (Poor college student here, with no money to afford a brand new computer).
