Hi all

Build : https://pcpartpicker.com/list/jWwGTH

will 500 w from evga (b1) be enough for this

not im not oc the R5 nor manual oc the video card.

just oc the RAM to 3200 and let the 1080 auto oc .

Eh, to be on the safe side i would go with a 750w Psu

Cpu: Intel i7-5820k at 4.6 Ghz // Motherboard: Asus X99 Pro // Ram: 32gb of Crucial Balistix at 2400 Mhz // Gpu: GTX 1080 Founders Edtion // SSD: Samsung 850 evo 250gb, Samsung 950 pro 256 gb, // Cooler: Cooler Master ml240r // Case: NZXT h500i

As much as I'd be beating around the bush, get a 750w PSU. Overtime it will degrade, Plus if you get one that runs to close to an estimated power limit then you may run into system instabilities

If you have a $500 graphics card, you can get a better quality power supply. The EVGA 500B is mediocre with all factors considered.

Get a EVGA SuperNOVA 550 G2 or Corsair RM550x.

Be nice to each other boys and girls. And don't cheap out on a power supply.

Spoiler

i bought the power supply a year ago thinking i would buy a 1060 instead.

You should still upgrade it. A 500B would have probably been fine for a 1060 but if you're getting a 1080 then a $70 PSU should not be out of reach.

looking at 60 usd at most

The CS650 you were looking at was more than that before rebate. That said, if you have a GTX 1080 the extra ten dollars for this really, really should not be a stretch.

Well then get that Seasonic since it's under 60 with the rebate and is better than the Corsair options you listed.
