Gtx 1080 or 1080ti

For either of those card you'll want at least an R5 1600. What resolution though, I wouldn't recommend either for 1080p60Hz.

Doubt a 1080ti is going to play at 1080p. Even if, he can use nVidia DSR to render at 4k then downscale to 1080p

still a waste. 1080 Ti should be 1080p 240Hz or 1440p 144Hz or 4K60
