Hi,

I'm looking for a new CPU on eBay and I often see listings with this mention: "New Processor, Bulk Packaging, Taken from tray". What does it mean? What are "bulk packages", at least when we're referring to CPUs?

Thanks

Bulk packages are pretty much what is says. They are ordered in bulk which usually means they come at a discounted rate and come in trays without all the retail packaging. You'll get just the CPU in a clamshell.

Is this reliable? I can see that the seller has sold over a hundred of them and has positive feedback, but are there any risks? By the way, it's a Xeon CPU if it can help.

No risks, and pretty reliable.

It's generally how server processors are bought and sold, with just clamshell packaging, nothing fancy.

It won't come with a cooler so you'll have to buy one of those.

As long as there a good seller and you have read the discripition then shouldn't be an issue, check there returns bit aswell i case I do have an issue, are they stated as brand new so there not tested ?
