Hej, so i just recently bought just cause 2 on steam when it was on sale about a day ago. so i installed the game and ran it. i felt the lack of sound in the main screen, so i just assumed they didn't add any sound to the main screen. i went into the game. people talked but i couldn't hear anything, i could only read what they were saying... anyone got and idea what could be the problem.

I tried deleting the audio files from the game folder and re downloading them, but that didn't help at all...

I have and idea why, but I'm not sure if it is actually possible. So the game requires a sound card with Dx10 100% support, but to my knows, i don't have a sound card installed on my pc.

From what I have read you don't need a sound card but for that game I could be wrong, does sound play fine on all other games ? Have u made sure in the game settings the sound is setup correct, also pc specs could help, also make sure ur graphics card drivers are up to date, most pcs don't have sound cards no more unless u buy one and install it urself

Sound works everywhere else, just that game doesn't want to give me sound. audio setting ingame are cranked up to 100%.

Specs: Cpu - AMD Athlon II x3 450 @ stock (3.2Ghz)

GPU - Gigabyte HD 7950 Windforce X3 @ stock clocks (Drivers are up to date)

PSU - Doesn't really matter, but a 550W from Corsair.

Pci-e 1x slot has a Wlan card so i can get wifi to the basement. parents wont let me get ethernet...

Try going into advanced sound options and changing from 24bit studio quality to 16bit dvd quality (or maybe visa versa), this worked for me

How do i change the Bits then?

I'm not sure I just see it, some one posted it in another post in another site about the same issue, there is some YouTube vids that claim to fix the sound issue maybe see what they do

Tired to Youtube vids they were for cracked games and they had the audio changed to russian instead of english. byt ill try to find it.
