Hey, everybody!

I am upgrading from an I7 4770k on a sabertooth board to a new 1600x ryzen build.  But I have one part I cannot find, a new sabertooth or TUF series board for ryzen.  I know Asus made a 990FX RV3 board for team red but, will they make a TUF board for ryzen?  I love Asus's large warranty and build quality of their Sabertooth or TUF boards.  Thanks for all the help everyone

either get the crosshair if you want the top of the line or get this if you want a nice motherboard for less https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/ROG-STRIX-B350-F-GAMING/

Yup, it's $105 on Newegg with a promo code right now, plus a $15 mail in rebate, IIRC.

Crosshair VI or STRIX board is probably your best bet. Best overclocking board right now is the X370 *** sorry edited *** Taichi though from ASRock

@drewdsterling
I too am a fan of the military spec component options from Asus with the Sabertooth & TUF series.  I am waiting to see another board made for regular ATX board rather than a micro ATX board but they do have one on Amazon though.  Have yet to see it turnip in Newegg or Tigerdirect.

This one is reskinned normal B350.

Nothing TUF except the capacitors

Does say mosfets and chokes as well but see your point.

Listen I understand the general dislike of these boards.  However I've had several boards over the years and decided to get a Sabertooth a few builds ago due to the operating temperatures that the components are rated for when military spec which is between -55C to 125C.  When under heavy load (especially for the H265 video codec) I regularly reach past 70C which is already past the consumer spec at the range of 0C to 70C.  Now I do have the notoriously hot FX series so I guess take it all in with a grain of salt (also the reason why Ryzen is on the horizon for me).  Turns out there are also Industrial spec components too but no idea if any boards have those.

All in all I still have 2 of these boards that still work over the years (the first from like 2010) compared to the numerous previous boards I've had or serviced that have popped caps or overheated mosfets which has made me a believer in this product line lol

It's similar to the same reason you'd buy a power supply with higher wattage than your parts add up to because under load wattage spikes higher under operational load.  At least that's my logic behind it.

Obviously industry has gone FULL RGB FTW so whatever I guess. TUF is forever alone lol.  I guess it serves it right with such a dumb naming scheme and branding.  Why the frick does this board look like a bulldozer!? Bcuz its TUUFFF! SHUT UP WITH YOU'RE LOGIC.  THE ONLY MILK I DRINK IS MUSCLE MILK!

I said it doesnt have anything TUF special.

Not that it isnt good.

The mobo uses the best VRM you can get on B350.

It has the biggest VRM control on B350 you could imagine on such grade of mobos.

Asus uses good parts and their custom voltage controller.

Caps on the TUF are -70 to 125C 5K caps.

They should be solid.

Oh my misunderstanding.  I see what you mean now.  Wasn't familiar with the B350 series either.

All these boards cost more or around the same as his 1600x. An entry level ASRock or MSI(never my first choice) x370 board would make more sense probably.

Unfortunately, you can't always assume that one manufacturer or another will be the best value for you money for a particular chip-set based on history only. For Ryzen, ASRock seems to have been making the most reliable or effective boards till now. On the other hand, Asus seems to have bunch of bad reviews on their mid/low tier motherboards.

Strix board is under $100 usually, sometimes with rebate it is $85

best value is an ASRock Killer SLI/ac if you need WiFi as well or a Pro4
