I have an economy line Corsair 550w from 2008. It works fine, but as soon as GPU boosts on load, the PSU fan starts spinning, adding more noise than the card. System pulls 360 watt from the wall up to 400.

What's the best choice on a modular silent PSU for 1080 Ti in 2017?

A Corsair RMx or EVGA G2 would work well for you.

|PSU Tier List /80 Plus Efficiency| PSU stuff if you need it.
