Whats the best cpu supported by this motherboard?

Hi, 

Im working with this motherboard and I would like to buy the most powerful cpu for it, However I dont know much about Lga 775 cpus.

I have a list of compatible cpus, But like I said I havent a clue. Can somebody tell me what the most powerful/Second most powerful one is?

Yup hard to find those though, a core 2 duo e6700 would be easier to find.

You can easily mod a LGA 775 motherboard to fit an LGA 771 Xeon for exceptional price to performance compared to most LGA 775 chips in the same price range.

Not this motherboard unfortunately, it doesn't even support quadcore CPU's let alone the 45nm ones. The C2D E6700 would be your best bet on this board, maybe the E8600 will work after a bios update, but I'm not at all sure of this.
