Budget Andriod smartphone ?

Hello,

My friend is asking me to find him a smartphone (preferably Samsung) as an upgrade from his old laggy phone

He knows I'm into tech but I'm not that much into Smartphones so I'm not so sure what to exactly recommend

His Max budget is 300 euros , and I don't think he will be doing some heavy stuff since he uses the basic functions like Youtube, some apps and google.

I looked up a few phones and my best option so far is the Samsung A5 2017 .

Should he go for this phone or would you recommend something els ?

G5+ or honor 8, used galaxy s7 would be good if want to go used.

Hmm Honor 8 seems out of budget, 

And he cares about aesthetics so the motorola doesn't look that good to him
And why would the A5 be not better ?
almost everything about it except the OK camera seems to be good
