Corsair is sponsoring this build with Two neutron GTX 120Gb SSD Drives,
Dominator Platinum RAM and all around of their awesome AF 140mm Fans.
Aquatuning is sponsoring this build with a Alphacool 280mm radiator

Sleeva.se provided the sleeving for this build

Apperance Goals:
I am going for a really clean look, with a White motherboard and with bent acrylic tubing with lime green coolant.
Cables will be kept to a minimum and will as much as possible be hid behind my motherboardtray.
HDDs will be mounted behind the motherboardplate, which i got a mod for.
The Neutron SSDs will be mounted visible in the chassi.
I am using a cylindrical reservoir, which also will be mounted visible

Updates:

I finally Finished my project!
The sleeving was harder to get straight then what i thought! since my Sataports are filled up there are almost no room for a clean run ;)
But i'll let the images speak for themself!

Big Thanks to Corsair, Sleeva.se and Aquatuning for their support in this Project! you made it Awesome!

I benched them using Aida64 and im getting ~30.000MB/s read/write/copy :o

I must say, this is the first Dominator Platinums i've had and oh lord do they feel good! You could feel the quality!

Thank you Corsair! Thanks to you two guys for making it possible! (you know who you are ;))

Okey guys! Almost finished, due to some Bad luck (Shitty handling), you have to disregard my unsleeved cables to the graphicscard until i can get a hold of more sleeve and a new connector...

Watercooling is finished, all tubed up, Running windows off two neutron gtx 120ssd striped, awesome benchmarking preformance ;)

I'll let the pictures do the talking here. (remember that this isn't final look. I have a couple of more cables to manage and i wanna light it up properly for beautyshots.

The fans might not be optimized for radiator mounting, but they are dead quiet and keeps my CPU at 1.3V and 40 degrees under full load! and they look awesome!

Thanks for the encouragement guys!

I was thinking i might show you guys a little Pic of how it looks right now, ready to be assembled tomorrow!!

11611891694_33262b8165.jpg

Tomorrows plan:

Resleeve a couple of cables that i didn't get happy with.

Mount my hardware in the chassi.

Start the bending of all the hardtubes for the watercooling.

(Basicly i want it to be done by tomorrow  ;))

Sorry Guys for the extreme long wait for an update!

All my watercooling stuff has arrived!

Two 280 mm Radiators, One slim and one 50mm.

Im using a cylindrical res from EK and a 4.0 Pump.

For CPU block im using a Acrylic top Copper block from EK aswell.

My new extension to the motherboardtray is done, and fills out the void the HDD cages left pretty nicely ( more pictures on that shortly)

As for my sidepanel, the hole had been cut out and im just waiting for the paint to dry until i can start fitting the window!

All my corsair Products are starting to arrive, and i must say those LED fans look incredible, i'll do a full feature update on these, SSDs, together with the Dominator platinum memories once they arrive aswell!

Alot more pictures will come either tonight or tomorrow during the day, but for now this is what i can get you!

I used a special rubber based paint called plastidip to paint my motherboard.

You really have to do some careful masking to get it right and even then, it's a risky thing to do.

I think it came out good, right?

Overview by Oskar Wallin, on Flickr

Here is a chain of pictures from my delid of the processor

I did the stresstests with Prime95, Aida 64 and monitored the temperatures with HW monitor,

you can see my before and after temperatures below.

10088032123_2b66ae375e.jpg

Före temp Delid Haswell by Oskar Wallin, on Flickr

Core #0: 85C

Core #1: 84C

Core #2: 81C

Core #3: 75C

Core temps are quite high and uneven at 1.264v (1.284 with offset)

Now that i have something to start from, i'll begin.

Here is the processor before the delid.

10088007656_ec2e8933f1.jpg

Start 4770k by Oskar Wallin, on Flickr

I start working the corners with the blade, being really careful not to touch the surfacemounted components on the processorns left side (VRMs?)

10087988565_6c3d378f0a.jpg

börja med hörn by Oskar Wallin, on Flickr

When i finished the corners, going all the way through the silicon, i started working on the sides. put pressure on the blade but do not "Saw" just a wigling motion will do the trick.. be careful!

10087999176_5d388b9f06.jpg

Delid efter hörn by Oskar Wallin, on Flickr

When i managed to get through the silicon, the IHS just falls of by itself. If it's still stuck, try twisting it a little.

10088055603_f5b9e28080.jpg

innan rengöring by Oskar Wallin, on Flickr

Scrape of all the remaining silicone with something plastic. i used a creditcard. Clean everything properly with Isopropanol 98%

10088051973_72d048df42.jpg

rengjord by Oskar Wallin, on Flickr

I used CLU as the media between the IHS and chip.

10087973395_6b75cc6a53.jpg

CLU applicerat by Oskar Wallin, on Flickr

Spread it out, by recommendation from the manufacturers. it's HIGHLY conductive, so keep it away from the surface mounted stuff!

10087913304_c32b968154.jpg

CLU utspridd by Oskar Wallin, on Flickr

Here's the processor delidded in the socket. Remembered to clean the bottom of the processor incase i got some grease on it from handling it.

10087908264_fd22d7502f.jpg

Monterad by Oskar Wallin, on Flickr

Here is eveything mounted, i didn't have to use glue since the bracket will keep the IHS firmly on the processor. i just had to be careful putting it back in the same position as it was before.

10087971946_3516d90101.jpg

The delid took me about 45 minutes!

After temps:

Efter temp Delid Haswell by Oskar Wallin, on Flickr

Core #0: 59C

Core #1: 60C

Core #2: 63C

Core #3: 60C

this is alot cooler then before and you can see that all the cores are much more even!

Motherboard looks like clay :o

wow what how did u make the pcb white?

Dis_gon_b_gud.gif

Thanks guys, Since u guys are asking, i'll show you some pics from the painting process.

I updated my second post with pictures from the motherboard painting, to save people from loading all the pictures, i am removing them here.

I basicly took a couple of hours removing all the heatsinks and carefully masking everything.

When everything was masked, i used a special rubberbased paint called Plastidip.

it took 3 coatings to get the result i wanted and from what i've seen from the sensors, it's only affected the load temperature by 2 degrees celsius on motherboard.

ive asked this question before and people have said plastidip but they said they didnt know if it would work....

SO gonna do this when i get around making my ultimate build!!!

  • 2 weeks later...

Sorry guys for my bad activity on my buildlog!

My watercooling equipment was delayed and only arrived here this monday, while i was at vacation in Paris.

Im currently leaktesting everything, but what i can tell you is that it's Awesome.

Im using a 4.0 EK-DCP pump, A EK CQS Acrylic waterblock and a regular 200mm Cylindrical Reservoir!

I also finished my full cover Motherboardtray and im getting ready to start assembling everything pretty soon.

My package from corsair is arriving around Christmas, so i'll use the days between christmas and newyears to finish my build off and present the final result!

I will update you guys with some beautyshots of the watercooling gear tomorrow!

Thanks!
