The Aorus X5 with a 1070 is starting to trickle out to consumers, but its 1080 maxQ equipped brother is coming whenever Aorus gets its act together and actually learns to ship products. I've got my eye on this, because I can't wait to see how well people can overclock their 1070s and 1080s, respectively. I think this is as close to an apples to apples comparison as is possible to see whether all this maxQ nonsense is worth anything. Are there any other laptops to keep an eye on that will also have normal mobile 1070 and 1080 maxQ options?

The Alienware 15 R3 has a 1050Ti option, a 1060 option, a 1070 option, and a 1080 Max Q option. Alienware actually posted a video about the Max-Q 1080 in the 15 R3 and said that you could actually overclock a 1070 and it would beat out a 1080 Max-Q.

There's the ASUS Zephyrus GX501 coming out. I've got the Alienware R4 17" with GTX 1070 mobile and it's rock solid. Expect a 5-10% performance boost with MaxQ over the mobile GTX 1070.

I love computers, electronics, audio equipment, games, art (digital/traditional), and programming.
