I'm not entire sure what the problem is here. Never come across this before. I'm thinking it may just be a dead card that needs to be sent in for warranty replacement, but I could really use a second opinion. Brand new Zotac 1050ti OC Edition being put on a PCIe 2.0 board from Gigabyte. Board is rather old. Here it is: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-EP35-DS3R-rev-21#sp . I'm running it with a Core 2 Quad Q9300 overclocked to 3.3ghz with a Hyper 212 Evo on stock voltage, 8gb of 1066mhz DDR2, 320gb HDD, 250gb SSD, Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, and a Sound Blaster from around the same era. I know, I know, these are 10 year old parts but I had no money and had to put together what was lying around the house. A friend bought the video card for me as a gift. I'm planning on upgrading the board and getting an I5 with some DDR4 as soon as I get some spending money, but for the moment, I need to make this work. I had it running on an XFX Radeon R5 230 just so I could do basic things until the other card arrived and that worked just fine with my dual monitors. I plugged in the Zotac card and I get nothing. Motherboard gives me one normal beep and then shortly after, two quick ones which is the code for no display. The fans on the card spin up, and I hear windows boot in through my headphones, but no dice. Radeon still works fine, but I need to know if this 1050ti just needs to be replaced on warranty or if there is something I can do hardware/software wise to make it work. Everything matches up from what I can tell online, but I figured someone here might know better. Thanks. Maybe while you are here, you can also tell me how to get my memory to run at the proper speed instead of the 543mhz that CPUZ is picking up. haha

Your mobo may not be capable of putting the power through the pcie slot.

And how would I be able to check if that is possible? I know the card needs 65 watts, but where can I find the amount that the board is capable of?

Try using a different display adapter (hdmi or dvi, whatever) and Ddu the old Radeon drivers.

Alright thanks. Any advice on the DDR2 running at half speed?

I had a really similar set up and was almost ready to do what you did.  After reading around I seen a lot of info about the older motherboards not supporting enough watts through the pcie slots for newer cards.  Because of that, I went ahead and built my new ryzen system and just got the same graphics card as you. It is working great.  If you know anyone with a newer system ask if you can test out the card in theirs.

Also cpuz is reporting correct DDR = double data rate 543 x 2= 1086

Make sure you locked your pcie bus with that overclock as well. 100 usually is best but not sure about your board.

First of all, Linus, is that you? Don't have to tell me if you don't want to. It did not work. I tried using a display port adapter, DVI solo, and HDMI solo, and nothing, but I put my wife's 1050ti, the MSI Armor OC edition into my pc this morning and it fired right up. Her PC seems to be happy with the Zotac and she doesn't worry about brands, so I just got mine working right. Posting with the MSI card right now. PCIe bus is locked to 100 and that makes sense Beowulff83, so everything is functioning correctly at this time. This pc is at it's maximum potential and ready for my capture card. Thanks guys.
