No such thing as overkill when it comes to CPU coolers!

A 1600 can be overclocked fairly well using their stock coolers. You can hit their limits using something as cheap as a Hyper 212 Evo. I would personally buy something like a 212 and upgrade something else in the system. But, the 100i will keep the 1600 even cooler than the 212 so it wouldn't be a complete waste.

Like what, if I may ask? What if I were to go down to a 120mm radiator instead?

That's a really bad price for a 1070, get a 1080 and drop the water cooler.   The stock cooler is on par with a 212 Evo and the 1080 will give you a 30% increase in performance.

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

I definitely agree with you on the graphics card. I keep something in that slot on PartPicker just to have it filled out. I'm waiting for the mining stuff to end/slow down to buy everything. Is watercooling overkill for the 1600's?

Throw those Corsair fans in the garbage if you haven't purchased already. Had a pair of SP's in that same case for a retired build and it was just all noise and crappy cooling.

As for the cooler, waiting for a Fractal Celsius S24 myself. Currently using an H7 which is a better 212 Evo more or less and I want better temps at my 1.35v* Keep in mind I also live in Arizona so cooling upgrade was 100% for temps and less for overclocking.

I'm in the midst of custom cooling a 1700 so I'm not the guy to ask xD

As mentioned above I'd actually get an s24 instead of an h100i.

Just to make sure, you're referring to the Corsair - Air Series AF120 Quiet Edition (2-Pack) 39.9 CFM 120mm Fans, correct?

Does the Fractal cooler come with an AM4 bracket, or is it something I'll have to contact them for?

It comes with it, one of the first to do so out of the box.

Hell yeah. Outside of the graphics card, which I'm waiting for prices to go down before doing anything, is there anything else I should change up, or is it pretty good to go?

Those, the static pressure versions. The V21 has that thick filter and all I remember is constant dust build up and loud noise for the effort. When that rig was retired, I put the fans on a Cryorig H7 in push pull for curiosity..

Those 2 fans at max rpm cooled worse than the quiet pwm fan that came stock. I have very little faith in whatever fans Corsair slaps their logo on.
