Seamless Dual Monitors

I'm kind of curious why they haven't come up with a seamless dual monitor yet.

Ultrawide monitor have been a thing for quite a while now, in 25", 29", 34" and Samsung even recently showed a new 49" monitor. These monitors are wider than standard monitors (21:9, instead of the standard 16:9).

Otherwise there are also some 'normal monitors' with very slim bezels. For example the Dell Ultrasharp U2414H comes to my mind.

but even if you're not looking for an ultrawide, some monitors have very thin bezels, and you can put them together and they're *almost* seamless

They're actually quite literally seamLESS. Less seams != no seams

If you want a cheap ultrawide solution, grab a pair of Dell monitors. They have ridiculously thin bezels.

There are also some niche monitors by some other companies (Porsche Design I think has a colab one) but they're generally more expensive.

IIRC it's similar to having 2 27" monitors stitched together. Definitely not the same as 2 ultrawides.

The 49" is 32:9.

Oh yeah that LG 38 whatever UW! That monitor looked pretty cool... Until that Samsung 49" came around..

 

Also, thanks for correcting. Totally forgot it was that Samsung was kind of a weird aspect ratio.

There have been a lot over the past few years, now its mostly ultrawides and samsungs extra ultrawide monitors

I dno, I'd much rather have that one (Acer makes one as well) than the Samsung. The Samsung has pretty low resolution for its size. I wouldn't get a 27" 1080p monitor, I definitely wouldn't get one that's a whole lot wider. Pixelation galore.

Yeah, but a horrible resolution. It's too big for something 1080p.

It just really depends on how far away you sit from your monitor. I really don't get the "27" monitor needs 1440p res or more" idea, since you can just sit further away and it will look just as sharp as a 24" 1080p.

The ultra wide isn't as great [to me] as people make it out to be. I bought the LG ultra wide monitor and gave it to my father a day later. Although the color on the screen was great, the issue was the refresh rate didn't meet my standards and maximizing games/windows didn't automatically fill half the screen. I will look into Samsung's Ultra Wide because it looks like is has settings to do what I want.

It's not only that it's also the available screen real estate. You just get more use out of a higher resolution monitor.

Some people also don't want to buy a new desk to accommodate sitting farther back. I had a pretty huge desk, and even with the monitor pushed all the way to the back edge, and even then it gave me headaches.

Looks like Samsung 49" with Easy Setting Box is my answer.
