Probably won't be ordering from Newegg again

So, I ordered my new phone from Newegg on June 9th at 8:42AM PDT. I paid almost $20 for rush processing and 2-day shipping. It is now 2:28PM on June 12th and the phone still has not arrived. It's not even "out for delivery." The estimated delivery is tomorrow. The problem is Newegg uses the worst carriers. This package is being carried by FedEx, who doesn't ship on weekends. For reference, one minute after I placed this order, I placed an order on my Amazon Prime account and received the package 26 hours later. This was my final straw from Newegg. Considering I spent $20 on shipping, they could've used a better carrier. I've even had packages delivered on a Sunday from Amazon with Prime shipping. It's such a shame, because Newegg was my go-to since I've gotten into computers, but after many late packages and bad customer support with said late packages, I've just had enough.

It's 2 business days. So it would arrive on the 13th. Most businesses do not count the weekend as business days. So it is not NewEggs fault. Nor is it FedExs fault. 

 

And this is why I do not order on Fridays from majority of companies. Or if I do I plan accordingly.

Even Amazon has stopped shipping some stuff on the weekends.

Why do you need the item so quick?

 

 

Fuck I ordered shit from China, $2 in s/h and it got here in 5 or 6 days.

It was spokes for my bicycle wheel.

Just keeping this here as a You ordered on Friday, and Newegg does not process orders on the weekend, nor do most retailers. Your order would begin processing today, Monday. If you needed it so soon, you should have ordered from a mega online retailer like Amazon.

Rush processing just pushes the queue of when your order ships out (or it may make sure your order ships out by COB regardless of the time before COB you ordered), and really in practice, it's not really worth it as long as you can get the order in by 10AM.

 

And as people mentioned, business days don't count weekends. Assuming it shipped out today, you'll get it by Wednesday evening (if they use UPS or FedEx, they're likely going to do the home routes at that time).

 

So yeah. NewEgg's not at fault here. This is standard business practice. Except for Amazon who has a fleet of couriers.

OP ordered from Newegg and paid for 2 day shipping.

Package is scheduled to be delivered on the 2nd day.

OP is upset because it's going to take 2 days.

 

Next time order it on Thursday if you want it on Monday.

Alright. One more time. Day one is the day they process and put the order into the hands of the delivery company. Day 2 is transit time to your city. Day 3 is delivery. That is what 2 Day shipping is. 

 

As a truck driver I would pick up a load on a Monday. It has to be delivered on a Friday. That is 4 days shipping. Not 5.

Shipping companies don't start counting until the package is actually "in transit" (FedEx's wording). It's "2 day shipping" not "2 day sorting and shipping". The first day is basically them getting the package, them sorting the package, and then routing the package.

I don't see any updates for today so I don't know where it is so making an assumption without that information would be ignorant on my part. Having no idea what they do or how they do it, I say that getting the package tomorrow is pretty good all things considered.

Nope. It should there on the 13th by 8p.m.  As I stated above. Day 1 you ordered, processed, and was put into the hands of the shipping company. That was a Friday. They do not count Saturday or Sunday as they are not business days. Monday It was in transit to your city to be dropped off at the sorting facility to be put into a delivery truck. Tuesday it will be out for delivery to be put into your hands before 8p.m. which is the end of business hours according to FedEx.

I just remembered I had a package from Newegg delivered today from FedEx (because I ordered it on Thursday). I checked the tracking info and it looks like you are incorrect to assume it should have been delivered today.

 

Your tracking info shows it arrived "At destination sort facility" last night at 6PM (my time?), that means it still hasn't reached the "local FedEx facility" where it will be loaded onto a truck and delivered to your residence. Trucks don't ship out every hour to each facility, if your package didn't arrive at the sort facility with enough time to be sorted, routed, and loaded onto a truck that day then you're most likely waiting for the next day when another truck is loaded for your "local FedEx facility" where it will again, take time to sort, route, and load it onto an actual delivery truck.
