No clue where this goes

TrueHawkEye

I have no clue where this plus goes at all, the only thing I know is it controls the 2 other fans in the case.

Its from a s340 elite case and I am trying to plug it into a z270 strix e motherboard.

Looks like a general 4-pin power cable? They usually plug into a cable on the PSU, not the mobo.

That's a 4-pin molex connector. I think it connects to your power supply for this use, but I'm not too sure. I'm not really good with modern cases.

Main System: Phobos

AMD Ryzen 7 2700 (8C/16T), ASRock B450 Steel Legend, 16GB G.SKILL Aegis DDR4 3000MHz, AMD Radeon RX 570 4GB (XFX), 960GB Crucial M500, 2TB Seagate BarraCuda, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations/macOS Catalina

Secondary System: York

Intel Core i7-2600 (4C/8T), ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3, 16GB GEIL Enhance Corsa DDR3 1600MHz, Zotac GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB, 240GB ADATA Ultimate SU650, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations

Older File Server: Yet to be named

Intel Pentium 4 HT (1C/2T), Intel D865GBF, 3GB DDR 400MHz, ATI Radeon HD 4650 1GB (HIS), 80GB WD Caviar, 320GB Hitachi Deskstar, Windows XP Pro SP3, Windows Server 2003 R2

It's molex, but just remember plugging it in will have your fans run at 100%  all the time

ah ok thanks, now lets see if the computer boots.

It is a four pin molex connector with two of the pins removed.  Judging from your comments about the case, I would imagine that it is the power connection to the fan(s) in the front of the case.  Just plug it in to a cord from the power supply that has the appropriate connector (male to female) and all should be good to go.
