In most cases, a laser mouse has a no light being emitted from it. An optical on the other hand, just has a clear thing on the bottom that tracks it with light". So one glows bright, one doesn't.

I think you have it reversed. I am using an optical. I know this because it says optical on the bottom. It has a light.

Check which sensor they are using and google that. If they won't tell you which one they're using, don't buy the mouse anyway because it's probably some shitty sensor.

Are you dead set on a laser mouse? I'm running a G900 and its optical sensor is so much nicer then my old laser mouse, so I would strongly recommend getting an optical and a "OK" mouse pad to go with it, if you don't have one already
