what is the video card that supports DirectX 11 to pair with an athlon 64 x2 4800+ or a 6000+ for only $40?

i recently found an old optiplex 740 with an athlon 64 x2 4800+ and ati radeon hd 3450 in which i plan to replace with a better card to game with due to potential hardware dammage on the card. im looking for a cheap but at least semi powerful card that will support DirectX 11 or 12 and lower.

Any card that powerful enough will get bottleneck by your processor.

 

R7 240 or HD 7730 is probably the cheapest either new or used also the most balanced between your hardware and the GPU it self, any card powerful than this will be useless, and both card also doesn't require external power, DDR5 or DDR3 at this point doesn't really matter either, and it still get support for latest driver.

 

Now if you can get any card powerful than those (eg. 750Ti/HD7870/7850 for $50) then go get it anyway.

 

I don't recommend any GPU from HD 6000 or lower, the driver support is gone.

ive found them on craigslist before. ive gotten a brand new one still factory sealed from craigslist for $70, you should be able to find a used one there for less. or ebay or anywhere else. not sure whats best where you're at.

 

i woulda given you one of mine(i had 5 of them at one point) but i gave them all away already
