Hey guys so I own the Dell XPS 12 (Linus owned one himself for a while) and ever since upgrading to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1, I have had issues. Firstly, the WiFi kept dropping, secondly it's become painfully slow (with 4GB soldered RAM and Win10 being a RAM WH*RE, I would think it's the Win10 thing) and 1 issue that has beaten them all. The fact that I can no longer use my laptop without having it plugged in. The battery won't charge and it's on 0%. I have tried a different figure 8 connector on the charger but have not purchased a new charger because the connections seem fine and I don't have a tonne of disposable income. So can anyone help? Because it's been since I switched to Win10, I don't see how chargers could really matter. I'm so damn confused. It's been useless to me for MONTHS!!!

Please, any suggestions would be awesome.

Thank you all x

Number 1, the original batteries on these just need to be replaced after 3 years, regardless.  I had to replace the one in mine and the charging issues stopped.  Mine was the same one used in the XPS 13 prior to the 9333.  Easy to find.  I did have to do a clean install of Win10.  When I did the upgrade, it felt like I had a snail running the hamster wheel.  When I did a clean install, it ran so much smoother.  The biggest performance boost was replacing the original SSD with a Crucial MX200 mSATA.  The Samsung it came with was only a 128GB, so I originally got the MX200 500GB mSATA for the extra storage.  It wasn't an immense boost, but definitely noticeable.  Boot time trimmed by several seconds.  I also replaced the thermal compound for the CPU.

My only current complaint is the ghosting, or slight screen burn of images in the LCD.  I did have to replace the power connector on mine because the plastic cylinder in the middle had broken out.  Found it on amazon for $10.  Pretty easy to replace on the XPS 12, too.
