S340 vs P400 TP???

DisconnectedYT

I just wanna know your guys input on these two cases. It will be for my new build and I don't know if everything is compatible and do either of the cases have problems. Also will all my parts work?

CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1231 V3 3.8Ghz

Ram: Avexir Core Red 32GB 1600Mhz

GPU: AMD RX480 (want a 1070 but the 480 is good enough for now)

PSU: Corsair RM550x

Mobo: MSI Z97 Gaming 3

Case: S340 or P400 TP

Cooler: Coolermaster Nepton 240M

Storage: Samsung 850 Pro 128GB + WD Black 2TB

The parts are compatible but why those parts? New or used? A 1231V3 does not overclock so getting a liquid cooler is a waste, same goes to the Z97 board

Also consider RX 580 instead.

As for the case get one that looks better to you

The Mobo and GPU are from my old build and the Xeon I got for $200 AUD and I can OC it, already tested it in the old build and it can get from 3.4Ghz to 3.8Ghz and the water cooler...... just cause it looks cool

The P400 does not have a lot of space at the top for a radiator. I measure it once but cant remember.

I have both cases and either would work well.  You would need to mount the radiator in the front with either case and both have adequate air flow for the radiator in the front(I am currently using the P400 tempered glass with an h100i v2 in a push/pull configuration and have plenty of room and airflow.  I do have both fan slots in the top populated though).  They are both great cases just choose the one that looks best to you.

I was looking at both of those cases myself but I chose the P400S TG because the look suited me better.

I literally received it and moved my current rig into it last night and I must say it looks quite nice.

Either case will work with this setup.  But personally I prefer the P400 TG.  I own 3 P400 cases and absolutely love them.  I only have builds in 2 of them right now.  The third is a craigslist find so I can eventually build a new media center pc for the house.

The radiator on either case will have to mount in the front unfortunately.  The top on the P400 can support dual fans but its not quite big enough to fit a rad up there.  But as for looks and ease of building, either will work.  But that part is up to you.  Here are pics of my 2 P400 setups.  And both are running RX 480 graphics cards.

S340 seems a better choice to me. When it comes to the GPU, try flashing the Rx 580 bios, it will squeeze out a bit more performance. I did that, and my strix variant runs 100% reliable and got a very slight overclock in the process. Just saying, get familiar with the process of flashing a new bios because it you are careless you can screw up bad, but as long as you proceed with caution everything should be fine.
