Automatically shutting off idle hard drive?

SamuelTheShark

So I recently got a new SSD and most of my stuff is on it now and I don't always need the HDD on. Is there a way to keep it off when it's not in use and only have it turn on when I'm accessing files on it?

Also side question, how do I set steam to default the save destination to the HDD?

if you are running Windows, go into the power settings, go to change plan settings, then advanced settings and set the hdd timeout to 1 minute

Thanks!

if you go into steam settings then downloads and click on steam library folders you can create a new folder to download games to.kghi.PNG.47bb9afc1fc9aeab17d5a9c238e814c4.PNG

If you are using WD Green / Red, I believe it will automatically park to idle if not being used for 5 mins.
