Single-GPU vs Multi-GPU Rendering (GTX 1080Ti vs Titan Xp) -- DaVinci Resolve

DaVinci Resolve Studio support Multi-GPU rendering but how much is the difference from single to dual. Is it better to use GTX 1080Ti or Titan Xp for GPU Acceleration? I would plan to use nVidia Quadro P6000 for 10-bit color for my primary displays and using either single or dual GTX 1080 Ti/s or Titan Xp/s

If you have the money why not buy one 1080 Ti first then see if you're satisfied with the results and then do or don't get a second 1080 Ti, but in my opinion the Titan Xp isn't worth the extra money over the 1080 Ti.

Also, don't know that this helps but I do a lot of video editing as well (premier pro), anyways my brother has an SLI setup with dual GTX 980 Ti's and its only about a 20% increase in rendering performance, over a single 980 Ti like in my system (My CPU is more powerful though too). I know that's on the maxwell architecture and SLI bridge performance was a big improvement on the 10 series Pascal GPU's. But like I said maybe try one 1080 Ti then see if you'd be willing to fork over the money for a second GPU.

Barefeats has some very basic Resolve benchmarks. Oddly enough their older Noise Reduction benchmarks seem to show much better multi-GPU scaling:

 

I can't help but wonder if the situation is getting similar to games, where a single GTX 1080 Ti is powerful enough that having two of them doesn't make as large a difference anymore.
