What PSU to buy?

Go to solution Solved by HKZeroFive,

Guys, they're both manufactured by Seasonic...

The Seasonic S12II is an older, group-regulated unit whilst the XFX 650 Core Edition is based on the same platform as the Seasonic M12II 750 - 850 which has better voltage regulation due to the DC-DC VRM on the secondary.

TL;DR - despite the majority of this thread telling you to get a Seasonic, get the XFX unit instead.

I would personally prefer the seasonic ones

Thanks! I was leaning more to the XFX one anyways.

Two more questions. Does the Seasonic M12II 620W Evo sound better than the XFX PSU. And I've been reading that a lot of this PSU's have high noise levels. Is that true?

I'm fairly certain all three are rather quiet...

That would depend on what specs you have or are buying, although that being said, Seasonic is generally a safe bet brand wise.

Ya dinguses, the XFX is manufactured by Seasonic and is the superior unit as it's based on the higher-wattage M12 series.
