Asus ROG Crosshair VI HERO X370 with only one 8 Pin Conector

Hello guys do any of you know if i can use the ROG Crosshair VI HERO x370 witch has a 8pin and 4pin conector for the cpu with only one 8pin conector?

No, if your PSU can't properly feed your motherboard buy a PSU that can.

 

EVGA G2/3 comes to my mind.

Hah, RMx is in my mind for gold fully modular PSU

You can power it with just the 8pin fine.

Erm I'm runing that board with a evga G2

off of one 8 pin for the cpu

the extra 4 pin on that board is for extream overclocking stability

You're both right. You can run the CPU without the additional power, but at that level you should have a better power supply. I run a MPOWER and have never used the additional connector to save in cable managment, yet run my 4790k at 4.7GHz.

It's litterly for ln2 runing stupid voltage at 1.6 plus

Yup, now the power connector for the PCi does help. Not sure why they kept the useless connection and got rid of the one that works...
