I am having NO LUCK finding any information regarding safe temps for my ryzen CPU and as such it is affecting my ability to overclock as i do not want to push the CPU to hard. does anyone know at what temps this chip will begin to throttle and what temps are dangerous and risk damaging the processor.

I am currently clocked at 3.95 ghz with 1.346v i have read that the MAX voltage is 1.45 so i dont want to get over 1.39. my idle temps are between 31-35c ad 1 hour on p95 had the chip @ 70c  so i shut off the stress test because, as i said, I cant find any reliable information on max CPU temps. Please let me know if you have any information

I wouldn't worry until it gets past 85c, 70c is not that high.

EDIT:

https://community.amd.com/thread/213058

95 is the highest the CPU will work at and will throttle at that point.

Generally on newer CPUs 85°c is harmful and your unit will throttle.

qυoтe мe pleaѕe!

Me at the Apple store: "So how fast is this little macbook?"

Apple employee: "Cheetah Fast. Lightning Fast. It's Really, really, fast."

From what I've seen in online testing 90 is the shut it off point. A few people testing heatsinks let it hit 105, but literally had their hand on the power supply switch to flip it as soon as it hit 90, and the jump from 90-105 took about 1.5 seconds. You are fine at 70-80 though. I wouldn't be concerned in the slightest. Yet. Nice OC btw, you are in the top 25%. Hit 4.1 and you are in the top 1% of Ryzen consumer chip owners.

There is enough youth in this world, how about a fountain of smart?

I am still on the stock wraith spire cooler i might see if i can hit 4ghz now that i have some reliable temp information. hopefully i can get it to stay under 85c if not i will leave it at 3.95 and maybe look at watercooling. If you have any advice on a good watercooler that would be great, i have room in my case for 120mm radiator and fan.
