i know but OP at least will have a good upgrade path, another choice would get to get a 4790k,  CPUs have much longer lifespan than GPUs.

OP should get a 1070 and then if he finds himself CPU limited, then upgrade to a 3770k (a 4790k isn't that much better to warrant a new mobo) or a 1600. Those are the best two options.

With my past questions I was able to come up with planning ideas thank for everyone who helped in this forum and now is time for a final decision:

What should i get to play on a 21:9 setup (2560x1080):

i5 6600K ($219.99 on Amazon)

EVGA GTX 1070 8GB  ($393.89 on Amazon)

Gigabyte GA-Z77M (Getting a Z270)

i5 3750K

1x GTX 970 G1 Gaming

16GB Ram (4x 4GB DDR3)

2x HDD (1x 1TB and 1x 500GB)

Cougar GX 800w

a good upgrade would be ryzen 1600+ rx480 or save up for a gtx 1070, 6600k is not worth getting anymore.

A 480 isn't much of an upgrade over a 970.

I'd get a 1070 and if you want to upgrade the CPU either a 3770k or an R5 1600+B350 board. A 6600k isn't much of an upgrade.
