  1. 1. Rx 580 or Gtx 1060?

Since you said newer titles, definitely 580.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

I believe the GTX 1060 6GB is better in Overwatch and For Honor while they're more or less the same in BF1. If FreeSync isn't a concern, get the cheapest one.

Be nice to each other boys and girls. And don't cheap out on a power supply.

they perform basically the same but trade blows depending on title. I've seen 1060 slightly win in dx11 for bf1 against the 480 but idk 580 and in ubisoft games like wildlands and for honor 1060 wins too from what ive seen

580 trade blows on For Honor, wins in bf1 and loses in Wildlands

Both are basically the same with RX 580 winning some dx11 titles and most dx12, and 1060 winning most dx11 and some dx12. When there is a difference it's like 2 to 5 fps, while big differences would be caused by either Nvidia or amd having some deal with the developers.

Like:

Doom = AMD (1060 still plays well)

GTA V = Nvidia (580 still plays well)

In my opinion, it really depends on the games you play, in your case the 580 for bf1 or Nvidia for wildlands. But either one of them will serve you well for a long time :).

Oh yeah, and if tearing is a concern, AMD is the best route to go cause gsync is overpriced and Nvidia will not be going to freesync anytime soon.

Gsync monitor: at least $300

Freesync monitor: at least $150

Btw prices (Newegg and Amazon):

Cheapest 1060 6gb (w/o rebate): $230

Cheapest 580 8gb (w/o revate): $240
