The 1080ti is what you should aim, frankly I'm waiting Volta to actually finally get this monitor so no the 1080ti is not "overkill" for it, unless you don't mind playing on medium~high

When you have a 3440x1440 100Hz monitor, a GTX 1080Ti hardly qualifies as overkill.

definitely the 1080Ti, it shouldn't even be overkill. in some games a 1080Ti will struggle with 60FPS on that resolution, let alone 100!

1080ti my boy. A 1080 would still be great, but come on, if you're gonna buy a badass monitor, you gotta get a badass GPU to go with it.

I will be getting a Acer x34 monitor soon and still debating which gpu to go for should. Is 1080ti a little bit overkilled for the monitor? Which card suit the monitor best?

Depends on the game you play. If you do minesweeper all the time a GTX 1050 or RX 460 would do fine, hell even iGPU can do

I don't think 1080Ti can do every game at 100fps 1440p ultrawide, so no not overkill at all
