Ever after updating my Windows 10 installation my PC feels a lot more sluggish, Google Chrome in particular, there's a very annoying delay switching tabs and video reproduction has become slow to react (play/pause) I wonder if anyone else is having a similar issue, (I've got the feeling that MS is trying to forcefully slow down Chrome to make you switch to Edge) Other apps seem mostly fine, games keep running at same FPS.

Maybe my computer is just in need of a refresh (I've been running the same installation since Windows 8) however everything has been running smoothly and fine just until the creators update. I also rushed to install creators update (not a pre-release version) to get the updated WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux) as soon as posible!

Got any similar experiences?

System should be more than able to handle browsing very very swiftly:

512Gb 850 evo
Nvidia 1060 6gb
4k Display

Microsoft is suggesting to wait for your wave for Creators Update, and not to force upgrade due to hardware driver incompatibilities. Microsoft is detecting which hardware has issues and are working with manufacture to fix the issue. In the mean time, make sure that ALL your drivers are fully updated (Graphics card, sound card, bluetooth, wireless, Ethernet, motherboard chipset, etc.)

If you have a already upgraded, you can downgrade, you have 30 days from the day you upgraded to downgrade, else Windows will remove the backup to go back (assuming you didn't do it, else you are stuck). A fresh clean install may help.

Well funny enough... not long after finishing writing this I checked for updates and a new update was available, speed and responsiveness came back to normal! but still wouldn't suggest anyone to update just yet...

I honestly wouldn't complain about Windows 10 stability in general, they have been always not great when new (Win 8 was so unpredictable, Win 8.1 was pretty good) I also was an early windows 10 adopter and the first 3 months were pretty rubbish, task manager and restarting the windows explorer was common place daily, after maturing (and before creators update) it has been rock solid for me with some few quirks here and there.

i guess now your system specs are supported. So probably if you didn't upgrade, it would have shown up now or soon as you wave come up.
