so.. it's come to that time again where money is coming in, and there's things i'm wanting to buy.. :D

note before i start: currently i have a very strong preference for logitech products. they work well for me, i am invested in the ecosystem and plan to be for a long time.

EDIT: another clarification i appareantly have to make: used market sucks here, i'm not interested in buying used.

---

due to said note, the logitech G920 was offcourse my first option to look at when i first started to shop for racing wheels some 2 years ago. since then plans to buy a racing wheel have been burried several times because they honestly cost A LOT of money...

the G920 is (still) available at my store of preference, for €259 and another €59 for the shifter, totalling €318.

the G29 which for all i can see is similar but just playstation branded and more buttons (which i dont necessarily want on my wheel) is available for €289, totalling €348 with the shifter.

i've seen some brief bits of the G920 in action in the past, and i've kinda set it as a "benchmark" of what to expect, and as a budget to aim for.

now... a lot of people in the racing sim community will probably want to stab me for wanting to buy a G920, which is exactly why i'm here :D

brief list of what i expect of a racing wheel:

- force feedback similar or better than logitech's implementation (i know the judder thing the logitech wheels are suceptible to, i can deal with it)

- a healthy number of buttons, i'm keeping this one vague because i dont really have a strong preference. more is better, but i wont necessarily see it as added value.

- 3 pedals. no explanation necessary here.

- H-shifter, combined with the last note this one should be clear as well ;)

- price similar or lower than the G920 (a bit higher is okay if it offers signifciant value)

- quick setup and disassembly, i dont have a dedicated cockpit, i dont have the room for one, and i dont have the time to set up for an hour before i can game.

- (local) availability in belgium. i dont care about pricing in USD, i live in belgium, i pay EU taxes, i get paid with very colorful bank notes, and i enjoy european warranty laws.

as a TLDR, i've set the G920 as my "price and performance benchmark", and with all the great things i hear about non-logitech stuff and me being actually pretty greedy, i kinda expect people to show me better :D

---

probably best to be included as well is my list of peripherals that'll be used with or around the steering wheel

- logitech G110 keyboard, it's probably more essential to my setup than the desk it lives on :D

- logitech G500 mouse

- logitech attack 3 joystick (this one's dinosaur age.. i'm amazed it still works..)

- steam controller, which i now use for my driving games, and hope to replace with something more fit :D

and offcourse also a list of games i'll be using it for:

- euro truck simulator 2 (primarily, also the reason for the H shifter)

- farming simulator 15

- GRID

- i'll probably find a way to tie it into totally not steering wheel optimized games as well :D

you have to know better than that ;)

second hand market is a complete joke here, and getting it shipped from the UK would probably cost more than buying the H shifter xD

Was slightly kidding although I have seen G25 sell for 40-50 pounds here which is god damn CHEEP!

well... i'd be paying more in shipping than in G25, would be waiting weeks for it to arrive, and have zero warranty on it.

you see my problem here? :D

On a side note, just checked the current pricing and well I can get a G29+shifter for less than a used G27...hmmmm...something isn't right xD
