NVme drive boots slower than SSD?????????

Hey guys I've had my new system up and running a couple of weeks and i've noticed that my new NVme M.2 boot drive takes longer to boot into windows than my plane jane sata SSD? Its literally double if not more time to boot now.

 

All the specs are in my sig and the NVme drive is an Adata XPG SX8000 256GB.

my 950Pro takes longer to POST which makes the total amount of time from power button to Windows longer.

It takes longer for the PCIE bus to to boot up than the SATA bus.

yep exactly the same here. SSD was around 10-15 seconds max, and the NVme is 30+ power to windows.

Are you running in UEFI mode?  That'll take care of that long POST and get you back to where you were or better.

I believe so as I can get into uefi bios just fine, m.2 slots are set to pcie and 4x.

Have you completely disabled Compatibility Mode?  If not, you are not running full UEFI.

TBH I don't know, apart from the two m.2 options I changed everything else is at factory Asus settings, and the build is all new.

So I believe I figured out my issue. It seems like once windows is installed these settings cannot be altered, you bust configure these bios settings prior to installing.
