Briefcase Computer!

xaviersykora

Hello! I have decided I am going to go all out and build a Suitcase Computer! I went to GoodWill today(A thrift shop) and got an old briefcase that looked good.

Here are the parts that I am going to put into the build.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/23B0e

Intel Core i5-4430 3GHz Quad Core

ASRock H81M-ITX

Crucial Ballistix 8GB

ASUS GeForce GTX 670 2GB

Corsair Builder Series CX430

So here is the suitcase when I first bought it.

Then I took out all of the fabric on the inside.

After that, I did some finishing touches to the case itself.

EaKj4Sl.jpgThen I made some to scale 'models' and put them in a config that I was comfortable with.

KEY

Kosher Salt=PSU

White Paper=MOBO

Cereal=GPU

HDD/Brown paper=2x 3.5" HDDs

I was thinking I would mount the GPU above the MOBO using a PCIe Extension cable.

Then I went into paint and made some horrible labels.

One thing I am worried about, is if the GPU and the CPU cooler wouldn't have enough space for each other, My briefcase has a 4" of clearance when closed.

Also I wont be putting any parts in this case until January, but I will be posting updates about the case itself.

Hope you are as excited as I am!

Yeah sry, that's actually a great CPU since you don't plan on overclocking.

This is just going to be a chassy, I won't be putting them on the inside as I wouldn't have any space

I've been planning on doing a build like this, but in this briefcase. Can't wait to see the final product though, +1 Sub.

I have made a V2 in sketchup

I changed where the HDDs are and where the GPU is.

good setup but may i suggest switching the Motherboard and GPU since the pci-e riser may reduce airflow to to the cpu cooler. Just a suggestion
