i would sell the CPU online and buy something better...it's not worth buying a motherboard for this chip at this point IMHO.

| CPU: Core i7-8700K @ 4.89ghz - 1.21v  Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z370-E GAMING  CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i V2 |
| GPU: MSI RTX 3080Ti Ventus 3X OC  RAM: 32GB T-Force Delta RGB 3066mhz |
| Displays: Acer Predator XB270HU 1440p Gsync 144hz IPS Gaming monitor | Oculus Quest 3 VR

then i would look into a cheaper motherboard...i certainly wouldn't overspend on a higher end 990FX board at this point...it's a complete waste of money...there are some good 970 chipset boards that have good VRM for overclocking like the gigabyte 970A-UD3 and UD3P for example (not DS...UD) there are a couple other good options as well that wouldn't break the bank...that way you could spend some money on a better graphics card or something...

Asus 970 Pro gaming/aura or MSI 970A Gaming Pro Carbon. The 990FX gaming isn't bad either. Really though instead of spending $100 on a new board, save up and try to sell your 8350 and put the money towards newer hardware. You already have to build a new computer so upgrade the CPU and MOBO as well as the RAM if you go with something newer or stick with DDR3 if you go with Devils Canyon or older for Intel.

i5 6600k @ 4.4ghz on Hyper 212 Evo

Powercolor RX 480 8Gb Red Devil @1330Mhz

Bottom line:  Don't be a spaz or an 800lb gorilla when installing your expensive CPU, and you won't have any problems. --Phate.exe

can i just point out the irony here?

joking aside, look towards outlets and/or secondhand offerings, especially with zen taking off, i'm sure there'll be an influx of AMD boards. look towards ones with somewhat decent VRMs on it.

buy used. it's the only option that's worth the money.
