I built my gaming pc on April 6th it has

i3 6100

gt 740 which I'm upgrading to gtx 1050ti in a couple weeks( the gt 740 was given to my by a friend)

8GB DDR4 Kingston HyperX 2133MHz

Gigabyte Ga h110 Motherboard

Western Digital 1Tb Hard Drive

- My question is that would this build last me for a year or so until I can built me an ultimate gaming pc and just sell the one I have later

i3 6100+1050ti should max out most games on 1080p with decent fps u'ill be fine.

Though u need an SSD

No it shouldn't, even i5 7600k + 1070 can't max out triple AAA games entirely at 1080p such as Deus Ex Mankind Divided and The Witcher 3 so quit spreading miss information.

Would that gtx 1050 ti and i3 6100 give me playable FPs on 1080 with my current set up it's at 30-40 with an older gt 740

This video seems reliable enough:

FPS wise you should be fine but stuttering will be noticeable since it is a dual core processor.

hairworks turn off and what not, does not translate into "maxing out"

Look no one really care about hairwork its unnecessary..

Its part of nvidia dirty move like using those crazy number of polygon on a single concrete in crysis 2 to make amd gpu perform worse..

So is the gtx 1050 ti and i3 6100 good enough for 1080p gaming on BF1

should be good I would only recommend a SSD so download and boot times are faster but that should be fine with games one thing that may help a older 970 can cost about the same as a 1050ti and has better performance most of the time but other then that it a good build.

That's my setup (6600K instead of 7600K, though). I run The Witcher 3 at max details and with several additional graphics mods on top of that at 1080p. Admittedly I do use a mod that disables HairWorks on Geralt while leaving it on animals, but that was a personal preference against terrible hair rather than a performance concern.

DX:MD is an odd one. If you count that game's MSAA setting (which I have no reason to believe anyone was meant to use), then I don't think any single card can play it maxed out at 1080p and maintain 60 FPS. Aside from MSAA, I think I ran it otherwise maxed out.

I'll also volunteer that SSAA in Rise of the Tomb Raider is also off-limits. But again, I'm not too sure who is supposed to be able to use that. In the cases of both that and the MSAA in Deus Ex, the type of video hardware needed would be better used at a higher resolution or higher framerate than 1080p 60 FPS.

The only issue I had was going absolute in his speech that it was max out while it clearly wasn't, you should give the actual idea to novices otherwise they will buy cards like the rx480/gtx1060 and crank everything on max only to then realize it falls short with fps under 60... They might feel cheated as they might of have gone with a 1070 for instance to ensure such graphical quality.
