Wich card do I have to buy now?

Go to solution Solved by Princess Luna,

Wait for Vega and buy it or a second hand 1080 for cheaper because Vega is out

Hello,

It's been 2 years sins i bought my r9 390 card for gaming but recently I'm interessted in testing some high res butter smooth 1440p 144hz. The problem is that I don't really know wich card I should buy for that. I thought about a gtx 1070 (even though it isnt enough for 144HZ at that resolution) or maybe wait for Vega to come at the stores. I have a budget of around 400 bucks. I thought maybe just wait for the gtx 2000 series to come out or get a 350 second hand 1080. What should I do?

thx :)

easy.

buy another R9 390 and crossfire. 1440p 144hz is no joke a massive demand.

But is it a good thing to have a crossfire of that card. It can become pretty hot if i play really intensive games like Paragon or The Witcher 3. But I saw some benchmarkes and it is benificial but in some cases I'd rather just buy a 1070 and SLI that with another one later in the year. Isn't that smarter?

SLI isn't widely supported for gaming. Benchmarks heck yeah, but when it comes right down to it, even Doom 2016 doesn't support SLI.

not that the 1070 is a slouch. it's just not 1440p 144hz...
