Can't install drivers because Windows Updater is broken?

I decided to do a clean out of everything on my computer (hardware & software). I completely took apart my computer, dusted and cleaned everything and put it back together. Once everything was together I inserted my Windows 10 installer (bootable flash drive) and formatted my gaming hard drive and my OS solid state, leaving only my media hard drive with any data what-so-ever. I proceeded to install Windows 10 on my 500 GB SSD, and booted up the system.

As soon as the desktop showed up I went to settings and started windows update so I can install the latest NVIDIA drivers. I've been stuck here for 3 hours now. Windows will update almost every part that I need except for one update ,"NVIDIA - Display - 12/29/2016 - 21.21.13.7653". It gets stuck on "installing" for a few seconds then fails with the prompt: " There were problems installing some updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help:".

Because of this I cannot install any more updates because of this and since I can't install any updates the latest GeForce drivers from NVIDIA's website cannot be installed.

There have been various other people with the same issue and all of their fixes involve some random registry fix that seems to do nothing for me. I'm exhausted and would just like to go to bed, but I can't till I get this done.

I want to die peacefully like my grandfather. Not screaming in fear like his passengers.

Try downloading the nVidia GeForce driver to a thumbdrive. When installing Windows, do not connect to a network. Plug the drive in at rhe desktop and install the nvidia driver. This should overide windows update.

I figured it out!

For the people that found this post on Google: The bootable USB I had was out of date, I needed to use the media creation tool Microsoft provides to create a up-to-date bootable USB drive. Once I had done that the install went seamlessly.
