I'm on Windows 10. I can connect to my network drive and see the computer it's on in my Network settings no problem. On wifi I don't see anything and can't connect to the drive. My wireless network is set to private. Any idea what might be happening?

goto my computer

right click drive

click share tab

is drive shared?

my networks is sharing enabled?

if windows 7 do you have homegroup enabled as homegroup only plays well with other homegroup OS are win7 and win8 not sure if win10 has or the win8 versions that have as homegroup is a flop in terms effective usability. best thing to do is create a new folder in hard drive you want to be shared resource then create shortcut to that folder and place this shortcut into the windows prebuilt share folders.  worked from winxp on no fails

The drive is shared. I can connect to it on multiple wired computers. I can even connect to it from a mac on wifi. Only on windows 10 with wifi I can't connect.

I'm not using a homegroup cause I have other computers. So I'm just sharing the drive via the network.

Not on wifi but wired yes.

You need to enable network discovery on your computer. The wifi network is probably set to public, so all LAN (no, not the cable, the network type) file services are disabled.

My native language is C++
